I am very sad to announce that Scott Kent passed away. I received an email from his wife explaining that he had suffered another stroke and returned home to be in Hospice Care, and also was experiencing heart issues.
During the 1950s and 1960s, Scott climbed the ladder at Wyanoke: Midget, Junior, Senior, Aide, JA, JC, and Councilor.
His parents had a summer cottage directly across from the Main Wharf, so Scott and I spent a lot of time exploring Winter Harbor, each in our own 8', 5-hp pram (which to us was a 'big deal').
On behalf of Wyanoke, Sherry and I express our deepest sympathies to Scott's wife, Marcia, and daughter.

Scott's Dad built a cottage across from Camp Wyanoke about 1947.
My Dad built a cottage across from the Kent's place in 1956. Our paths probably would never have crossed, except that we were "close" alphabetically!
Scott made it a point to visit us every summer—in addition to at least one "traditional" dinner out at West Lake Chinese Restaurant. (West of Lake Wentworth). In our twenties, we waterskied on Winter Harbor—most summers.
Once, Scott said, "Y'know, you're my oldest friend".  Clarifying it, "We've known each other since 1952". 
His wife, Marcia, needs to find a home for his sailboat, a 19' Cape Dory keelboat. It has a rare Westerbeek inboard engine, which seems to be running OK after Scott overhauled the carburettor. Last I saw it, the boat appeared to be in tip-top shape.
The cottage (& the 3 lots) will need to be sold, and probably be listed this summer. A Camp Wyanoke history that originated during WWII is coming to an end.
The times are a'changing—and he'll be missed.
