Jim, Pat and I used the CMT version of the words as well as the arrangement and harmonies. We had no imagination, I guess. For some reason, it was immensely popular, to the point that when the inimitable Sam Eves asked for requests, it was the song most often shouted out. Ol' Sam still sang "Good morning Mr. Zip Zip". Remember Sam? How 'bout Bob Munstead? _________________ '56-C-9 C. Mosher '57-C-9 Bill Feaster

I remember Mike that it was difficult getting any type of good radio station locally during the day at Camp. Most everything up until maybe '58 or '59 was AM...
Maybe we could pick up WBZ-Boston on a good day. |
Hey...No mention of WBZA—Springfield?
Oh yeah...one other thing—off-topic. (Sorry )
I was checking out a regular forum, and found a "Multi-Quote" button, labeled "M-Quote".
It doesn't seem to work as yet at the site, but I think it's supposed to allow selecting sentences from a posted reply—something I have to do manually at present.
Here's where I saw it: http://www.sunfishforum.com/showthread.php?t=2903
Anybody seen it?

I had a radio at Wyanoke from 1958 or 59 on and I listened to every Red Sox game in 1960, 61, and 62, even the late games from Kansas City! I was in the little cabin along the road one of those years and had my radio in the V of the wood framing covered by my bathrobe. Many an OD would walk in or by wondering what the noise was. For the Sunday double-headers I would go down to Hilltop often and listen until the call for supper. In 1960 I was in the Junior Camp, then Senior Camp the next two years. |
