Two things happend last Saturday the 9th.

It was my little sisters 44th birthday. On July 9, 1967 I was summoned to the phone in the dining hall to talk my dad who informed me of the event. I think I was upset about missing baseball... I wonder how long my dad had to wait in order for them to find me and get me to the phone?

I brought my 11 year old son and his best friend mountain biking on some back roads in the Berkshires but they spent most of the time looking for crayfish in a stream. I remember spending lots of time on overnights at Lands End turning over rocks looking for crayfish and even catching a few. It doesn't get much better for an 11 year old than hunting for crayfish on a hot July day.
