I attended Winnemont from 1952 through 1957; my mother was there for ten years in the mid-20s to mid-30s. Miss Baldwin was director for both of us. My first two years were as a Senior I, then CIT, JC, and finally two years as a Junior I counselor.
I have often considered the possibility of setting up a Web site for Winnemont. There are so many camp friends out there somewhere! This site may just be the thing. If there's anything I can do on the WInnemont side, just let me know.

My first year was 1956, as the youngest kid in camp, then until 1962 I think. It was a great experience for me, and I still hike, and enjoy camping and the outdoors a lot. I can still spout Winnemont songs, and remember vividly the annual productions of plays, like HMS Pinafore. _________________ Sister of a Wyanoker; Winnemont camper |

I probably knew you! Debbie Graff - a Junior II councilor - was part of my group. I was the hiking councilor. _________________ Diana Lees

How about a name from 1956?
Tentmate Debby Dearborne?
Tents were referred to Junior I, Junior II and Senior I, and IIs, as I recall.
Miss Baldwin's full name was Rae Francis Baldwin, and last was located living at a residence in the Town of Ossipee -- lakeside of "Dan Hole Pond", which is alledged to be a bottomless lake. (Located as it is in the extinct volcano a part of, and east of, Mount Shaw). |

I have Winnemont catalogs from 1956, 57, 58, 59, and 1963. So I note, for example, that in the 1956 catalog, Joan Kennington showed as a 3 year camper!
Lots of pictures of us all in our shorts & white shirts, as well as the assembled group pictures by age groups. _________________ Sister of a Wyanoker; Winnemont camper |

I am Grant Hirst and I attended Wyanoke from 1948 to 1955.
My uncle H. Gordon Oburg, Jr. attended Wyanoke in the 20's, roughly the same time my mother, Phyllis Oburg, attended Winnemont. I remember my mother speaking of Miss Baldwin.
Does anyone know if there is a surviving list of Winnemont campers so I could pinpoint the year(s) my mother was a camper there?

If there are any official records of Winnemont, David Bentley, who you may know, would be likely to have them. His grandmother, and my great aunt Harriet Bentley owned Winnemont in the fifties when I attended it. She died in about 1973, and if there were any official historic records he might have them. _________________ Sister of a Wyanoker; Winnemont camper |

Hi, everyone! Worked in the kitchen at Winnemont summers of '57 and '58...Name was Ginger Hinett...trying to find Winnemonters and Wyanokers from thos years. Mrs Paris was the cook. She was from Taunton, MA. Willie Hodge was the director, I believe., at least in '57. We had a fun time producing "The Mikado" in '58. Ring any bells for anyone? |

Welcome Virginia! I attended Wyanoke during the years you were at Winnemont. I was only 12 at the time although I did attend a couple of Wyanoke/Winnemont dances later on in '60 and '61.
Mrs. Morin was our pastery chef at Wyanoke for many years. She had and still has a special place in our hearts.
Great to have you with us! _________________ '56 - J-9 J. Moulton
