Greetings, Just got a broadband connection and am surfing about. The phone connection was slower than vespers, by Jesus. Often think about Wyanoke, it fades in and out of consciousness, a memory here and there, triggered by nearly anything. Freddie in his shack, Mr. Bentley and his cigarettes, the buses pulling out in August, that water bubbler at the corner of the road near the kerosene house where we used to lift the lid and get bits of ice, the nine holer under the chapel, the green stuff we used on the chapel floor to help it sweep cleaner when we had chapel police. Tom Falcon hiding corn flakes boxes in the dining room, foul balls hitting the shop, candy line, Bob Dickerman reading the Sporting News in the Junior pines, those funny shorts we had to wear, and a cpo shirt.

Hi Dave! Which years were you at Wyanoke? Yes, I do remember that "green stuff" we used to use when cleaning the Chapel floor. I think it was made of sawdust, or something like that, and had a little bit of oil in it that helped collect the dirt. I forget how many times a season we had Chapel police . . . . . . maybe once or twice? Fun times!
