It looks like I have been away for about of year. Since then my Mother passed away and my Dad is in a nursing home with Dementia. I did get a lot of Wyanoke pictures from this site and put them in a binder to give to my Dad. He did respond to it and liked it. I would like thank people who uploaded pictures and made it possilble to have this quality time with my Dad. Speaking of the Pictures, where are they kept now? My sister and I have been going through the family stuff and we found a group picture that must of been taken when my Dad attended Wyanoke. I would be glad to upload it but I can't seem to remember how to navagate to the pictures on this site.
Glad the site is still running.
Have to check in more often!

Hey, Alan. Welcome back.
Start here:

There's no clickable link from the forums into this area, but you can also get there just by starting at http://wyanoke.com (you'll note that this is the forum address, without the forum part), and going from there into Personal Photo Galleries. _________________ Camper: J-8 1965 (Kevin Ryan), J-8 1966 (Mike Freeland), S-6 1967 (Russ Hatch), S-3 1968 (Jeremy Cripps), and JA-2 1969 (Dan Mannis).

Hi Alan, it's good to see you in here again. Viva The Ocho (I wish I'd thought of that in '67. Movies are a great inspiration, eh?)
And thanks Dave, for jumping in with the info. I didn't see this post til later in the day.
Sounds like a terrible year. I'm sorry to hear about your parents. You have my sympathy, and empathy. Those are difficult times. I have to say that I'm gratified that the contents of this site helped ease things along, however sllightly. It's our contributors, not me.
Did you get the information you needed to post the picture(s)? If not, I can help with that. Send me an email.
Your father must've been at Wyanoke before 1940, because he isn't in my database (yet - we're working on that, now that we have the rest of the rosters digitized), and I'd love to have that group picture posted.
Feel free to stick around. It's been quiet in here of late. _________________ '56-C-9 C. Mosher '57-C-9 Bill Feaster

Checking out the Rosters. It took me while to realize that clicking on them yielded a higher res that is much more readable. Anyway, found my Dad from years 32 to 40. Later years a cabin town councilor. I believe the group picture I submitted the 32 date is fairly accurate. Also checked out the rosters I am on 65-68. All my tent mates I can visualize. Interesting experience. _________________ Alan Carter Neagle |

Hey Al,
Aren't those roster boards an amazing resource?? Of the "Wyanokiana" that got saved, I am most grateful about the rosters... and even more grateful to Mike Freeland for his detailed scans of them. (Doing that took serious dedication and hardware/sofware firepower; those rosters are too big for consumer scanners.)
But then I was a weird, nerdy camper who even in his first season at the age of 11, and for the next 11 summers, would walk around the Dining Hall studying them the way others studied MLB team rosters, tracing back people I knew, and even looking as in your family's case, for "Chip" ties.
The Dining Hall rosters were not 100% accurate, but they're close enough for jazz. And I still check them out.
(For anyone who doesn't know how to see the Dining Hall rosters but is curious or needs a refresher, click this link:
http://www.wyanoke.com/gallery/Rosters
and as Al suggests, after you open one by clicking on it, since each roster does not fit on one computer-monitor screen with enough detail to read, click on it again to enlarge it; then click-and-drag or use the sliders on the bottom and on the right to move around.) _________________ Camper: J-8 1965 (Kevin Ryan), J-8 1966 (Mike Freeland), S-6 1967 (Russ Hatch), S-3 1968 (Jeremy Cripps), and JA-2 1969 (Dan Mannis).
